I have been a Pastor for over 30 years, married to the woman of my dreams, and fathered 5 children.  Life is what you make it, so Dream Big, Live Loud, and Love Often!

I've been a friend to many, but i've not many friends!

A Penny For Your Thoughts

Psalm 19:14 “May the words of my mouth and the meditation of my heart be pleasing to you, O LORD, my rock and my redeemer.”

Matthew 12:34 “…..out of the abundance of the heart the mouth speaks.

What is the thing in your life that gets the most of your attention? What have you fixed your attention on? If I asked you to honestly list the top three things that you are fixated on every day, I think you’d be surprised to find what those things are. The average believer has been seduced on incremental moves by darkness. Negative thoughts creep into our mind in a very subtle way until they become our every day way of thinking. Stop it! In the name of Jesus!

Take back the battle over your mind, your imagination, your thoughts, your meditations, and the things you focus on and are fixated on. How do I do that? It’s vital for you today to immerse yourself in the promise of God and not the problem. Stop talking about your mountain and start talking to it to get out of your way.

Fill your heart with the thoughts that you are favored of God, miracles are headed your way! You are not about to breakdown, you are about to breakthrough into the next level of God’s power, presence and provision for your life. I wish I could get in your head and shout as loud as I could to drown out all the other voices clamoring for your attention. If I could, I would tell you that you ain’t seen nothing yet! God’s not through with you! I would rattle your brain with a cheer to keep on keeping on and your best is yet to come!

You might say that I am just giving you a bunch of cliche’s and that none of that works for you. I will tell you that you have proven that it works. If you think you can’t, you won’t! If you think you’re defeated, then just go ahead and let the opponent have the trophy without even getting into the arena. It’s the arena of faith! As a man thinketh in his heart, SO IS HE! Come on, you are a fighter and you have been called to fight the good fight of faith! It’s supposed to be a fight! Do you think the enemy of your soul is just gonna roll over and not try to block you from your destiny! Internal domination is his subtle tool. It’s time to rise up and stake your claim to the promise of God.

If your thoughts are dark, negative and downcast, then they aren’t worth a penny! But if you’ll immerse yourself in the Gold nuggets of the possibilities that are in God through Christ, you’ll find your words to become the currency of your next harvest.

Father, in the name of Jesus, help us to put a guard on our thoughts, to wrestle down negative imaginations and replace them with your promises. Fill us totally with the possibilities that are lying dormant in our lives. Stir us up O God! May our thoughts and our words bring a smile to your face. In the name of Jesus!

We love you and are praying for you today! God has targeted you for blessing! Believe it and receive!

Isaiah 40:9   “O Zion, that bringest good tidings, get thee up into the high mountain; O Jerusalem, that bringest good tidings, lift up thy voice with strength; lift it up, be not afraid; say unto the cities of Judah, Behold your God!

10 Behold, the Lord GOD will come with strong hand, and his arm shall rule for him: behold, his reward is with him, and his work before him.

11 He shall feed his flock like a shepherd: he shall gather the lambs with his arm, and carry them in his bosom, and shall gently lead those that are with young.”

We are declaring that the prophetic voice of the Church is rising up in these last days to bring good news. We will lift up our voice with great strength and no fear and we will with our praise declare, “Behold our God!” He that has an ear to hear what the Spirit of the Lord is saying to the Church, let them hear. THE LORD GOD IS COMING WITH A STRONG HAND, IN POWER AND DEMONSTRATION AND HIS ARM SHALL RULE FOR HIM.

God is coming with power to fix things that we cannot fix and to change things that we cannot change. When you have done all you can to stand, stand therefore with the armor of God to protect you and watch His own arm of deliverance work miracles in your life.

He’s coming and His reward is with Him. Stay focused! Stay in faith! Don’t ever think that every time you take a stand against the forces of darkness that our Heavenly Father doesn’t take note of it and He does reward obedience! He is coming and He’s bringing some stuff with Him.

When our children were young we would bring them gifts when we would return from out of town trips. It was based on our love for them and our desire to see their eyes light up with excitement when we returned. They loved it when we came back from our travels because we always brought something with us. It wasn’t based on their behavior or school grades and most times they probably didn’t deserve what we brought, but we brought it based on our love for them.

It may seem like Papa God has been out of town in your life for a while. Don’t grow weary in well doing! He’s got plans of showing up any day now and He’s bringing gifts to His children. They are based on His love for you! “Lift up your head oh ye gates”, the Psalmist said, “And the King of Glory shall come in.” Lift up your head, lift up your heart, lift up your gaze of expectation, lift up your praise and soon the King shall appear riding through the gates of your praise!

Jesus promised that, “where two or three are gathered together in my name, there I am in the midst”. I’m not waiting until the end of time for Jesus to come riding on a white horse. I believe He’ll ride his white horse of victory into the midst of our praise as we lift up His name! We need help right now! And He is a right now God!

Make every effort to join with the family of God this Sunday. Bring an offering of praise unto our God and watch Him bring the Calvary of His Power to still the enemy of our soul.

For the victory,

Pastors Jimi & Debi Higgins

The Roar of the Lord

Psalms 130:1 “Out of the depths have I cried unto thee, O LORD. 2 Lord, hear my voice: let thine ears be attentive to the voice of my supplications. 3 If thou, LORD, shouldest mark iniquities, O Lord, who shall stand? 4 But there is forgiveness with thee, that thou mayest be feared. 5 I wait for the LORD, my soul doth wait, and in his word do I hope.”

Joel 3:16 “The LORD also shall roar out of Zion, and utter his voice from Jerusalem; and the heavens and the earth shall shake: but the LORD will be the hope of his people, and the strength of the children of Israel. 17 So shall ye know that I am the LORD your God dwelling in Zion, my holy mountain: then shall Jerusalem be holy, and there shall no strangers pass through her any more.  18 And it shall come to pass in that day, that the mountains shall drop down new wine, and the hills shall flow with milk, and all the rivers of Judah shall flow with waters, and a fountain shall come forth of the house of the LORD, and shall water the valley of Shittim. 19 Egypt shall be a desolation, and Edom shall be a desolate wilderness, for the violence against the children of Judah, because they have shed innocent blood in their land. 20 But Judah shall dwell forever, and Jerusalem from generation to generation. 21 For I will cleanse their blood that I have not cleansed: for the LORD dwelleth in Zion.”

Jesus said it and I am just repeating it.   Jesus said, “I will build MY CHURCH and the gates of hell will not prevail against it.” As much as the enemy despises the Church of the Living God, Jesus has invested the future of eternity in her presence in this world. We are to occupy till He returns. The prophecies that we anchor our hope in is the picture that Jesus painted as well as the prophets that God’s people would not be able to be stopped in the end times.

The end times are upon us and there are two time clocks that I must tell you to give attention to. One is the nation of Israel, as it blossoms and blooms, God is with her and shall fight her battles for her. There is an equal important thing to watch and that is the body of Christ. In Old Testament prophecies when Zion is mentioned it is a direct reference to the age of the Church, the body of Christ, the bride of Christ.

When the scripture says that God shall roar out of Zion and utter his voice from Jerusalem and the heaven and the earth shall shake, it has a parallel reference to today’s Church. There is a calling going out to gather together the people of God, who are hungry for God, who want to stand in unity as a body of believers. As the Church gathers and the unity of the Spirit is demonstrated through love and forgiveness extended to one another, God will roar from Zion. He will open a fountain for the thirsty to drink of His mercy and grace. The Church will become the power station, the hospital, the healing and the balm of Gilead for the believer and then to the world.

There is a gathering of the called to come together and experience the divine presence and power of Christ in His Church. There is a grand swing of the pendulum of purpose. The significance and dire necessity of the believer being connected to the Church will begin to be demonstrated. As in the days of old revival, families will begin to plan their weekly activities centered around the gathering of the saints. Their lives will become dependent upon their active participation in the exchange of strengths that take place when the Church gathers for worship.

Christ’s Church will be vindicated. His presence, power and peace will usher in a new dimension of the supernatural intervention of God in the lives of His Church.

If His Church is of the utmost importance in these last days, then you must be of equal importance to be a part of ushering in the Roar from Zion. We will roar in our worship, we will roar in our prayer, we will roar as His Word goes before us! Make the shift now! Center all that you do around the gathering of the Saints. Plant yourself, be faithful, hope thou in God and watch Him be true to His promise.

This is membership Sunday at Trinity Life Centre. If you have not made a public commitment to be joined to a local Church it is of vital importance in your life. Make a commitment this Sunday to be a part of the Mightiest Army on Earth, God’s Army. If you are reading this and you are not connected to a local Church, I urge you to find a place that you feel connected and join yourself to the work of the Church.

Plan your week around the gathering of the Saints and watch how your life will change! I wouldn’t miss one Sunday if I were you. We are roaring!

I saw you today! I just want to put my arm around your shoulder and tell you how amazing you are. If everybody knew the real you they would fall in love with you, because youre a pure joy to be around. I love it how you do things for people. The way you just keep giving and giving. You sacrifice, go the extra mile and how you constantly work on your attitude to make it “all about everybody else”and not “all about you.”

Galatians 6:9 And let us not be weary in well-doing: for in due season we shall reap, if we faint not. 10. So then, as we have opportunity, let us work that which is good toward all men, and especially toward them that are of the household of the faith.

I saw you today! You picked up the phone and tried to encourage someone and it didn’t seem to go the way you had prayed it would go. What you don’t know is they were so down that they had given up on praying whether someone cared about them and then you called. You were an answer to their prayer. Just hearing your voice and your simplistic attempt at quoting that scripture. You felt like an idiot, but they thought you were the voice of an Angel.

You must be one of the great people in history. How do I know that? The great ones never considered themselves very great. They never did any thing great in their own eyes. They just did the small things the best they could and the little things they did when accumulated became great! Keep doing the little things in such a way as if your life depended on it. Our Father knows that if you can do the little things great then He can trust you with bigger things. As a matter of fact, your faithfulness in the little things are causing greater things to open up for you that will amaze you. Don’t be afraid, just stay faithful and do the best you can and where you’re lacking, God will take up the slack and help you! He won’t give you something to overwhelm you and destroy you. No, He’ll give you something that will only cause your dependency for Him to draw you closer to His heart!

I saw you today! I pray your great traits, your loving heart, your kindness and boundless energy to help others dreams come true will be evident to everyone in your life. Keep doing the right thing. There is a harvest of blessing that is coming your way, just don’t get weary and give up! I know you feel a little weary right now, but that’s a sign that the harvest you’ve been praying for is right around the corner.

Joshua 1:9 Have I not commanded you? Be strong and courageous! Do not tremble or be dismayed, for the LORD your God is with you wherever you go.

I saw you today and you reminded me of Joshua. Remember what the Lord told him? I tell you the same thing, “Don’t be afraid, only be courageous.”Success is in your future! It’s what’s been designed for you since before you were born. You were born to succeed!

I saw you today and the Father told me to tell you how much He loves you, He’s proud of you!

I’ve got a feeling that every thing is going to be all right!

Empowered to be Powerfully Successful

Why do I believe that it is Gods will for His children to be a success? Because, its in His Word and I have founded my belief system on the declaration of God Himself.

Joshua was told to hear, obey and do and then he would find the path of success.

Joshua 1:7Only be strong and very courageous; be careful to do according to all the law which Moses My servant commanded you; do not turn from it to the right or to the left, so that you may have success wherever you go.

8This book of the law shall not depart from your mouth, but you shall meditate on it day and night, so that you may be careful to do according to all that is written in it; for then you will make your way prosperous, and then you will have success.

9Have I not commanded you? Be strong and courageous! Do not tremble or be dismayed, for the LORD your God is with you wherever you go.

God delights in the prosperity of His servants. Prospering has to do with success!

Jesus told His disciples that upon the revelation that God gave Peter, that Jesus would be the foundation of revelation for His Church. That Jesus would be the center of their joy, the delight of their obedience and once firmly established in their character and lifestyle, that Jesus would build His Church and the gates of hell would not be able to stand up against His Church.

The Kingdom of God and the sons and daughters of the Kingdom of God are being made manifest, becoming known all over the world. Successfully obeying the proceeding Word of God and seeing Gods demonstration of favor, healing, deliverance, and just plain old fashioned success!

Jesus empowered the disciples when he said, And I give unto you the keys of success, whatever you find to be the will of God, demand on earth, because it is backed up by Heavens authority. Whatever you find to not be in the will or Word of God, bind it up, because Heaven will back up the Word and will of God.(Higgins Living translation)

This Sunday, I want to do what Jesus did and that is to place the keys of empowerment into your hands by the will of God and the Word of God. It wont be some mumbo jumbo, pie in the sky spiritual weirdness. It will be practical keys to see mountains of doubt moved out of your life so that the playing field will be leveled and you can run the race before you with great endurance and spiritual strength! WHATEVER YOU DO SUNDAY, MAKE SURE THAT YOU MAKE PLANS TO BE IN THE CIRCLE OF FAITHWITH THOSE IN THE WINNERS CIRCLEAT TRINITY LIFE CENTRE! THIS SUNDAY AT 11 AM!!!!

Get Ready, Get Ready! Get Ready!

Pastors Jimi & Debi Higgins

Life is a lot like a playground and it’s all about fun and games and swings and merry go rounds, monkey bars, baseball fields, soccer fields and winning. My mind has taken a journey today back to the dreams of my third grade existence. It’s all good, I haven’t lost my mind, I’ve just been reminded of some really important stuff that we all should have learned before we left elementary school.

The only reason I went to school was because it was the law and my parents were law abiding citizens. My motivation was recess period. Oh yea, I also lived for the milk and peanut butter cookie break at 10am every morning. Life was a breeze. I was active enough that the cookies were not a weight issue and I was athletic enough to make some pretty impressive moves like jumping from the swing at it’s highest point, or being able to not only make it across the monkey bars by skipping every other rung, but I could also impress the third grade girls by being able to walk across the top of the monkey bars too. In the third grade, I was so fast I could out run the girls who wanted me to be their boyfriend. I was convinced that Cooties was a real disease and it could only be passed to me from a girl who obviously had them. I was really fast in the third grade so my family never had to deal with me coming down with Cooties.

Life on the playground was great until the 4th grade when a new player was introduced to my world. He was a bully. His name was Billy Coleman! He was slower than me, shorter than me, dumber than me, uglier than me and everybody knew it, except Billy Coleman. He was convinced that he was the greatest thing that the fourth grade had ever seen and it was his job to shout his greatness from the playground to the bus stop. According to Billy nobody was as terribly terrific as he was. He was the epitome of tooting your own horn. In fact, Billy tooted his horn so much he could have been an entire horn section in the band.

We all knew Billy was a bully, but it was too much trouble to try and prove him wrong so we just let him have his way. It seemed harmless. He would break line at the monkey bars and just dare somebody to stop him, of course we didn’t. He would demand two cookies and take someone’s if he needed too and we just didn’t see the need to say anything. If need be somebody would just break their cookie in half and give it to the offended party, so we never really had to confront Billy the Bully!

It was that way through the fifth grade, and then the sixth grade and on into the 7th grade. Three years I had been dealing with this rat of a guy and just turning away and letting him have his way. Until that one day that and it will forever go down in the history of Bryan Station Junior High School.

Here’s how it went down! I was coming out of the school lunchroom by myself. There was a group of teachers about twenty feet in front of me and out of no where, Billy the Bully Coleman stepped in front of me with, of all things, a cookie, and he threw it at the teachers and it hit one of them in the back of the head. Before they could turn around to see that Billy threw it, Billy had ducked inside a classroom and left me standing alone as if I was the one who had done this evil deed.

These teachers took me directly to Principal Shiflets office and told him that I had thrown this deadly cookie at them and had struck one of them in the back of the head. Mr. Shiflet looked at me and asked me what possessed me to do such a horrible thing. This was the day that would forever shape my life. I had to choose to roll over, turn my back, turn the other cheek or do something nobody had done, “Stand Up to the Bully”. I’ll never forget the look on the Principal’s face when I told him that it was not I who had flung that cookie at the teachers, but it was Billy Coleman, the Bully. Mr. Shiflet and the teachers looked shocked because certainly I was no match for the school bully. Why would I want to put myself in harms way and make such an outlandish statement. There was no reason to do it, unless I was standing for the truth. I WAS TIRED OF ROLLING OVER AND LETTING THIS BULLY HAVE HIS WAY. IT WAS TIME FOR SOMEBODY TO STOP HIM AND IT LOOKED LIKE I HAD BEEN SELECTED TO MAKE A STAND!

Billy and his father were called to the office as well as myself and my dad. Billy looked at me with gritting teeth and whispered like a demon, “I’m gonna kill you Higgins.” I looked at Billy and his dad and said, “Am I therefore your enemy because I’ve told the truth?” I stood by my story, knowing that it could cost me my life. I didn’t care if Billy punched me, shot me, beat me up, cursed me or what, it didn’t matter! I had to make a stand. It was a matter of life and death in the core of my being.

Billy finally admitted that he had thrown the cookie. He was suspended from school for three days. I was celebrated by the teaching staff as well as the students as their new hero. Billy never made good on his threats of beating me to death. From that day forward other people stopped letting Billy Bully them. After a while it became evident that Billy wasn’t so bad. He had a big bark, but no bite.

WHAT DOES THIS HAVE TO DO WITH MY WORLD TODAY? I’m glad you asked! Life is filled with bullies. Some you can see, and some you can’t see. Some of the meanest bullies I have had to deal with were the ones you couldn’t see. They were the ones that would come around after a loss and try to tell me because I lost one game that I was now branded as a loser. I got to tell you that one loss doesn’t make you a loser. There’s that bully that has been knocking on your door lately that keeps telling you that it ain’t gonna get any better than this, it’s gonna get worse. That’s a bunch of bull from a bully! The worst is over and the best is yet to come! Your latter days shall be greater than your former!

The big bad bully that comes huffing and puffing and trying to blow your world apart is all wind. The wolf huffed and he puffed and he tried to blow the little pigs house down that was built with brick and he couldn’t do it. Your life is founded on the rock Christ Jesus! You are an heir to Trillions of dollars! Your future has never been brighter, but the bully will try his best to steal your joy, your dreams and your tomorrows by believing that his threats are true.

I HEARD THE LORD SAY TO ME TODAY THAT IT WAS TIME TO FIGHT BACK! Is that scriptural you may ask? Sho is! Paul said that when you have done all that you can do to stand, then make your stand. Don’t make it naked! You make it standing in the armor of God! God gave you armor to give you a fighting chance against the schemes that have been designed to take you down! FIGHT BACK!   There are Billy Coleman’s in the darkness that you’ve been laying down and letting the enemy walk all over you! No more! YOU GOTTA DRAW A LINE IN THE DIRT AND SAY NO MORE! YOU’VE TAKEN IT LONG ENOUGH! IT’S TIME TO FIGHT BACK!

Father in the name of Jesus, my friend has been battling spiritual bullies from the dark side. Right now in the name of Jesus we decide that there is no place for these bullies in our lives. You have told us to take a stand and as we do, let the armor of God become such a reality that we can almost feel it! We have not only a fighting chance, but we are already more than conquerors through you! This is a new day!  If one of us can put a thousand bullies to flight, then two of us can put 10,000 on the run! In the name of Jesus turn the tide of victory in our favor! I declare it has been turned and the flavor and favor of victory is ours! There is an overflow of power and anointing that is ours today for the sake of the Kingdom of God! In the name of Jesus! Amen

Ephesians 6:10 “Finally, my brethren, be strong in the Lord and in the power of His might.

11* Put on the whole armor of God, that you may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil.

12* For we do not wrestle against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this age, against spiritual hosts of wickedness in the heavenly places.

13* Therefore take up the whole armor of God, that you may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand.

14* Stand therefore, having girded your waist with truth, having put on the breastplate of righteousness,

15* and having shod your feet with the preparation of the gospel of peace;

16* above all, taking the shield of faith with which you will be able to quench all the fiery darts of the wicked one.

17* And take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God;

18* praying always with all prayer and supplication in the Spirit, being watchful to this end with all perseverance and supplication for all the saints.”

Isaiah 40:29 “He giveth power to the faint; and to them that have no might he increaseth strength.

30 Even the youths shall faint and be weary, and the young men shall utterly fall:

31 But they that wait upon the LORD shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings as eagles; they shall run, and not be weary; and they shall walk, and not faint.”

Today I was thinking on the things of God, meditating on His goodness, faithfulness and future that He has for all of us. I was challenged by a challenge that came from my reflections. The challenge came by this question, “What do you see”? “Not how things are but how things shall be!” Then the challenge was extended to me, “Write what you see! Write what you believe to be!” So in obedience to that challenge I felt in my heart, “I will write what I see”!

I see a move of God that is coming upon a remnant of people who have not yet possessed all that has been promised to them. They have possessed promises by faith, but have not seen the reality of manifestation. Because this remnant has not become bitter over the delay of the answer, but have continued in faith, there is a new day dawning!

I see an uprising, or a “Rising UP!” In this rising up there is a renewing of strength! It can be compared to the Eagle’s renewing and mounting up! Jewish tradition talks of the eagle’s renewing of strength. Every 10th year the Eagle comes to a specific time where it flies straight towards the sun. When the heat of the Sun overcomes the Eagle, it falls into the sea. Because of the heat of the sun, and falling into the sea, it casts its feathers and is renewed again. It’s feathers grow and it returns to the days of its youth, and so every ten years up to one hundred does the eagle follow the same course of action. In the hundredth year it ascends according to its custom and falls into the sea to pass on from this journey.

The remnant who waits on Him will rise up and fly into the face of the Son. When His presence has become like a furnace where the furnace has purified the gold, the remnant who has waited on Him will fall back into the water of His Word and having died to self will rise as a resurrection and find their strength in Him to be renewed.

Weariness will disappear as if some special potion has been taken. Running to do His will be found to be effortless and akin to the runner who has found his second wind. Akin to the boxer who has gone round after round and seemingly can’t go another round, but a second wind comes from somewhere and a new energy fueled by Adrenalin stokes the fighter to rise to new levels as he rises in victory over what seemed to be a losing effort.

In your waiting I see you pointing the attention, affection and focus of your life towards the Son. In your waiting I see the Eagle in you and I, flying into the face of the Son and declaring like Job, “Though He slay me, yet will I serve Him!” “We will see the Lord in the land of the living!”

Let the Son deal with you in the secret places of your heart! Let Him have His way in every area of your life. As you yield to Him in obedience He will shape you and fashion you after the design He has for you. When you can’t take it any longer, I see you coming back to the very source of your faith and strength, the washing and renewing of His Word.

Not everyone will understand what I am writing, but you understand clearly! The day is coming to the Eagleminded remnant when the strength you run in and the endurance that you walk in will be understood that your strength comes from the Lord.

The remnant will say like Joshua and Caleb, “We are well able to go up and possess the country”! You and I are the remnant that will come out of Zion with a shout of victory, a dance of praise and waiving the banner of His love!

I see a good thing! That’s what I see! For every person there is the need to become relevant or to find yourself in this generation. Some use the word “Reinvent” themselves. The eagle reinvented itself every decade! You are like the eagle! There is a reinvented getting ready to take place! It’s a new you! Not tired and beat down, but renewed in Him, revived, strengthened, full of life, a new you, “Reinvented in Him”!

Father, today we wait on you! You seem to keep us in a place where we are dependent on you! We don’t have and yet you said to “Ask”! We haven’t found, and yet you tell us to seek! We have not found the open door, but you encourage us to knock! May we find comfort in our pursuit of you today! Make yourself known to the remnant who waits on you!

In the name of Jesus! Amen!

It’s a new year and we are all on one bandwagon or another. I’m usually the last to jump on and many times the parade is over before I jumped on the wagon. Debi and I are trying to live a more healthy life. You know what they say, “First the natural and then the spiritual”. Things usually happen in the natural realm before they do in the spiritual realm. It makes sense.

Well here is our latest bandwagon. I just pray that I didn’t wait too long! We are discovering the vital importance to our bodies is the proper balance of hydration. Yup, I said it, “Hydration”! Making sure that your body gets enough water so that you can function properly. Most people hate to drink water. Hate is a bad word, let’s say they just don’t prefer water. You and I both know that we are about 75% water and that we each should drink a certain amount of water daily, daily, daily so that our basic body functions can operate smoothly, or correctly which ever you prefer. I’ve read that your brain is 80% water and that with just 2% dehydration it causes drastic side effects. Depression, hallucinations and loss of logical and critical thinking to just name a few. Many mental disorders are attributed to dehydration.

Anybody in their right mind would start drinking water once they read that. Or maybe they wouldn’t because they wouldn’t be in their right mind yet. Well anyway, I have started researching the absolute need our body and our earth depends on water to make things operate as planned by God. Withhold water and you deprive the body the benefits of function at a high level.

That’s the natural, now the spiritual. If our bodies need to be hydrated, what about our spirit? There are many references concerning the Word of God being like water that washes your soul. There is reference made to the washing and regeneration of the Word. The Word is also likened unto Milk that should be craved like a new born baby craves the milk of it’s mother. Without a doubt the Word of God has been likened unto liquids. If our bodies are 75% water, then it would seem a fair assessment that our spirits need 75% spiritual fluid to operate smoothly. If our bodies can become dehydrated it would seem a fair observation that our spirit person could become dehydrated too.

You need to hydrate your body and you need to hydrate your spirit with the Word of God. There’s nothing real deep or emotionally stirring about drinking water. You just do it! There’s nothing particularly deep about you drinking in the word of God! Just do it!

Pick up your glass and get on this band wagon! Pick up your Bible and get on this band wagon! It’s not too late to hydrate yourself into a new you!

Jesus, help us to do ourselves good. Our bodies are your temple so help us to treat ourselves as if we were valuable to you. Create in us a new desire to open your Word and drink it in! Help us to drink up and live. In Jesus name! Amen!   Drink up! Love you!!!

What Say Ye?

It’s interesting how often God waits on our response to situations in life. He put the prophet in the middle of a valley of dry bones and then asked him if the dry bones could live. Can these bones live? Then God told the man to begin to speak, or prophecy to the dead situation that it would live. And as the prophet began speaking, God began to act upon what the prophet had declared.

Another interesting thing is that Jesus told us that our obstacles would always be obstacles until we believe that they can be overcome, shifted or moved out of our way of progress. How was the way Jesus told us to move the obstacles? Jesus said if you would speak to the mountain to move and believe what you were saying, it would have to obey you. I know this was a metaphorical analogy about our situations shifting, but notice the part about our part to play in the shifting of a thing. Our part is to speak to it!

There are so many illustrations woven through the Word of God that it’s amazing that we are so slow to believe it. The Lord told the children of Israel that the power of “life and of death” was in the words that they speak. He even said those who discover this secret shall eat the fruit of it or the abundance of the manifestation of it.

God made the animals in Genesis and then he brought them to Adam to see what he would name them. God made them, but Adam put a name on them. Whatever Adam named them is what God called them.

God is giving us a new year. But I believe that He has left it up to us as to what we will call it or name it. What will you declare about the brand new year that will be here in a few days. What do you want this year to be? What kind of year do you dare declare for yourself, your family, and everything that makes up the world you live in.

Go ahead! I encourage you! You are a child of God. He has given you permission to speak to the things that are impeding your forward advance. I can promise you this, 2014 will not be a year of retreat in any area of your life. 2014 will not be a year of defeat. 2014 will be a year of the advancement of the Kingdom of God and those who will move in will take what has been promised them with violence or great passion and spiritual aggressiveness. No sleeping or bleacher sitting this year! It’s game on and we are gonna triumph through Christ! So start practicing your victory speech because this is the year of victory! I do declare!!!! Now, it’s your turn! Say it out loud!

Isaiah 9: 6,7

6 “ For unto us a child is born, unto us a son is given: and the government shall be upon his shoulder: and his name shall be called Wonderful, Counselor, The mighty God, The Everlasting Father, The Prince of Peace.

7 Of the increase of his government and peace there shall be no end,”

Love is an action verb. To say I love you and have no corresponding action to support the statement, is to say with your actions what you really intended to say. It’s like saying, “I exercise,” but then have no action that indicates that the statement is true. In the book of James we get a true picture of love in action. James said, “Let us not love in word only, but in deed.” Don’t just talk about your love, but show it by how you act or what you do.

I’m so glad that our Heavenly Father showed us about the demonstration of love. Herein is the love of God made manifest that while we were yet sinners He gave His Son to die for us. The Father demonstrated His love towards us by the giving of His Son. He didn’t wait until we deserved it, or we could be rewarded for some noble thing, or because we were on the nice list. While we were undeserving and unworthy of such a gift of love, He gave. God is love! God is a giver.

It’s Christmas! Christmas brings out a vast hue of colorful opinions, ideas, superstitions, traditions, joys and sorrows. We are not superstitious in the observance of Christ’s birth. It is a fact that He was born to a virgin called Mary. There are many opinions and arguments as to what the actual date of his birth was. So because there is not an actual date on the calendar, many chose to not celebrate His birth at all. As a believer I am compelled to declare His day a Holy Day, a day of observance, a day to have parades, to celebrate that God has declared “Peace on Earth and good will to mankind.” His birth was heralded by the Angels of Heaven. The wise and the wealthy, the faithful and forgotten visited Him to worship and bestow gifts upon God’s grand entrance into our realm. They gave gifts in recognition of God’s gift to mankind. The Savior, the King of kings and the Lord of lords. How can we just casually sweep under the rug the grandest birth the earth has ever known. Emmanuel, God with us! God didn’t forget us, and He didn’t forsake us! He sent His son to purchase us and to make a way for us to be a part of the family of God.

Don’t you dare bring insult to this great day. You need to celebrate His birth. Do honor to the greatest gift by being a gift to someone and by gifting someone a piece of your heart, a demonstration of His love. Since we don’t know the actual date let us embrace the fact that His birth is worthy of a day of recognition. His birth is worthy of some flamboyant display from those whom His life has changed for the better! Let us use this season to bring the true reason for our giving.

God demonstrated His love by giving the most treasured thing in His life, His Son. His Son demonstrated His love for the Father by humbling Himself and becoming a servant even unto death. Now let us rise up as His disciples, His followers, those who believe in the very nature of God and let us honor Him by our giving. Giving of ourselves in worship to Him, and giving of our self in serving those whom He loves.

It’s the season to demonstrate the reason that we believe in His gift of love. Do something to brighten somebody’s holidays. Call somebody who you know needs a kind word. Drop a card in the mail, or email someone, not out of routine, but out of love. Do some random act of kindness! If you vow to be a blessing to others, you’ll discover that He will bless you in ways you’ve never known.

From our house to yours we wish you the most blessed Christmas you’ve ever known. May the mercies of God be made fresh to you and may you be re-newed by His Holy Spirit! We love you and there’s nothing you can do to change it!
