I John 3:8 The reason the Son of God was made manifest (visible) was to undo (destroy, loosen, and dissolve) the works the devil [has done]. (Amplified)

There is such a big debate in the Christian world concerning success. From the Theologian to the Pastor, to the Choir Director, to the Deacon, to the TV Evangelist, to the common lay person, Everyone has an opinion on Success! Its actually funny to watch people defend their theological doctrine concerning this controversial subject.

The only people against success are the people who are not successful. Ive never read or heard of a successful person who was against being successful. Its amusing!

Here is my doctrinal question for those who want my opinion. If your reading this you probably are interested in what I have to say regarding success. My opinion is not based around philosophy or traditional thinking. I would like to draw my conclusions from looking at the life of Jesus!

Ill start my observations by asking you a question. Was Jesus successful? Yes or no! Stop it! I dont want nothing but the truth, the whole truth! WAS JESUS A SUCCESS? Its a yes or no question. Its not an essay question or a fill in the blank. Either He accomplished what He was destined to complete or He was recalled to heaven as a failure. You tell me in the presence of the great cloud of witnesses who have passed on to their place in glory! Was Jesus a success or a failure?

Now hold on because its gonna get pretty tough! I believe that the greatest success story in the entire worlds history is the life of Christ. First of all, He did not come to earth to carry out a selfish destiny that would exalt Him! He came to do the will of the Father. He came to destroy the works of the devil. He came to buy back humanity from the control of darkness. Did He accomplish His mission? This is so simple! Absolutely! He did exactly what He was sent to do. He finished the work of the cross to bring mankind back to the Father and when He was finished, He was seated at the right hand of the Father, high above all powers and dominions. I dont care who you are, that right there is a successful King. We serve the King of all kings. He is the Lord of all lords. If you look at Jesus as the picture of success you will see that He was baptized in the waters of success. He was sent to earth to succeed!!!! Failure was not in His DNA! Obedience to the Fathers will was what gave Him the strength to carry out His purpose.

Now step back and look at the big picture. If Jesus is the epitome of success why would He not desire, want and expect the same for those who follow in His footsteps? AS HE IS, SO ARE WE IN THIS WORLD! He was the first to show us the path to success and I might as well say it, greatness. You dont have a purpose until you discover His purpose. Jesus plainly stated His secret to the doorway of success when He cried, Not My will but Thine be done. Selflessness is a secret of success. Jesus put the Kingdom of God first and foremost above every other thing in His life. Even to the point of death! His death was the crowning achievement of His path of success! And to take the final step He could not have been crucified against His will. He had to lay His own life down by His choice. Jesus even said that, No man can take my life.

I know Im throwing a lot at you right now, but I just want you to know that if Jesus was given the most difficult task to carry out and He was able to finish it with flying colors, why wouldnt He want you to do the same in your life.

His DNA is in your spirit! Its in your spiritual DNA to succeed! You have been born again of an incorruptible seed by the Word of God. We are a people who were not. We have become the people of God, royal priests, Kings who reign in this life. What fool would say that God would not want His offspring to succeed! Success finds its foundations in God.

Is God a failure? Never! Why would God condone anyone of His children to accept failure as part of the heritage given to them through the bloodline of Christ?

Paul even said, and I paraphrase, Ive been up and Ive been down and Ive seen some good times and some bad times, Ive sat with dignitaries and dined in the prison. Ive rode high on the seas and Ive been tossed in the waters, Ive been beaten and left for dead. Ive known what it is to be full and to have very little. But it doesnt matter what I have to face, good or bad, I CAN DO ALL THINGS THROUGH CHRIST WHO IS MY STRENGTH.

Romans 8 tells us that all things work together for our good, (our success) to them that love the Lord and are the called, according to His purpose. There it is! All things only work together for our success if we love the Lord and are called to walk out His purpose. My purpose is to discover how I fit into His purpose on the earth. Then and only then can I find the path of success that Jesus enjoyed. Success has never been about things or the accumulation of things. Success is about putting the Kingdom of God first. Pursuing the purpose of God and submitting to the Fathers plan.

Never measure your success by what you see on the outside. Measure it by your hearts decision to say yes to Gods will in Christ Jesus for your life.

This has been measured in love and dispensed with the greatest expectation, that you will lift your eyes above the common and see yourself on the path of destiny to fulfill the purpose of God for your life.
